What These Terms Say — in Plain Language
Tamil AI is a technology platform incorporating AI across various dimensions of Tamil language and culture. By using it, you agree to these terms. Parents and guardians hold the account and stay in control. Use Tamil AI respectfully, and leave whenever you choose.
1. Who We Are
Tamil AI Pvt Ltd is a technology company registered in Tamil Nadu, India. We build Tamil AI — a platform incorporating AI across various dimensions of Tamil language, culture, and heritage. In these terms, “Tamil AI”, “we” and “us” mean Tamil AI Pvt Ltd.

2. Accepting These Terms
These terms apply to all users of Tamil AI — the mobile application, the website tamil.ai, and any related services. By using Tamil AI, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Tamil AI.
If you are a parent or guardian using Tamil AI on behalf of a family member, you accept these terms for yourself and for that family member, and you are responsible for their use of Tamil AI.
3. Accounts and Eligibility
- Accounts must be created and managed by an adult — a parent or guardian where a child is using Tamil AI.
- Children cannot create accounts, enable voice features, or make purchases independently.
- You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your login details secure.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe it has been accessed without your permission.
4. The Tamil AI Service
Tamil AI is offered in a free tier and a subscribed tier. Pronunciation practice is available only in the subscribed tier.
We are always improving Tamil AI, so features and content may be added, changed, or removed over time. We aim to give reasonable notice of any change that significantly affects subscribed families.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
- Prices and billing periods are shown before you subscribe.
- Payments are handled by certified payment providers. Tamil AI never sees or stores your card details.
- Purchases made through an app store are also subject to that store's terms, including its billing, renewal, and refund rules.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops future charges; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds are provided where required by applicable law or by the rules of the store or payment provider you purchased through.
6. Acceptable Use
Tamil AI is built for families and learners. You agree not to:
- Use Tamil AI for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive
- Copy, resell, or redistribute Tamil AI's content without our written permission
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, or try to gain unauthorised access to Tamil AI or its systems
- Scrape or extract content by automated means, including to train other AI systems
- Share your account in a way that bypasses subscription limits
- Misrepresent your identity or your relationship to a child using Tamil AI
7. Content and Intellectual Property
Tamil AI's software, lessons, characters, illustrations, audio, branding, and other content belong to Tamil AI Pvt Ltd or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Tamil AI for your own and your family's non-commercial learning and cultural engagement. Schools, Sangams, and other organisations can write to [email protected] to discuss partnership use.
Classical Tamil works in the public domain remain free for everyone. These terms cover our own presentation, translation, and adaptation of them.
8. AI-Generated Content
Parts of Tamil AI, including pronunciation scoring, use artificial intelligence. AI can make mistakes. Scores, feedback, and generated content are learning aids and may not always be accurate or complete. Please do not rely on them as professional, academic, or scholarly advice.
9. Privacy
Your family's data belongs to your family. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. It forms part of these terms.
10. Cancellation and Termination
You can stop using Tamil AI, cancel your subscription, or delete your account at any time. See how to delete your account.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where we are required to do so by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you the chance to put things right first.
11. Disclaimers
Tamil AI is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we do not promise that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will achieve a particular learning outcome.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Tamil AI Pvt Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Tamil AI. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Tamil AI in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded by agreement.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tamil Nadu, India, without affecting any mandatory rights you have in the country where you live. Please write to us first — most concerns can be resolved directly.
14. Changes to These Terms
When we make material changes, we will notify subscribed families by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect, display a notice in the app, and update the “Last Updated” date. Continuing to use Tamil AI after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
